The Fein is an ultralight BFS finesse lure hand-poured in Texas by WM Bayou. Compact profile, subtle action — lighter than the Baby Thing, purpose-built for light-line finesse on spinning and BFS baitcasting setups when pressured, clear-water bass scrutinize everything. Designed to float. $6.99.
How do you rig The Fein?
Ned rig (1/16–3/16 oz mushroom head, 1/0 short-shank Ned hook), drop shot (nose-hooked, 6–10 inches off bottom), shaky head (1/16–1/8 oz on rocky bottom). Sub-1/4 oz rigs on a BFS baitcaster or ultralight spinning, 6–10 lb fluorocarbon or 4–8 lb mono. Cheb rig and Free rig give it a natural fall.
When is The Fein the right bait?
High-pressure tournament conditions, ultra-clear water, post-frontal slow bites and winter, spotted bass and smallmouth that respond to finesse over power, and suspended dock/laydown bass on drop shot. This is a slow, methodical presentation — not a numbers bait, but the one that gets the picky bite.
What colors does it come in?
Honey, Tilapia Magic, June Bug, Night Sky, Black and Blue, Green Pumpkin, Guacamole, Old Earl, Watermelon Red, Silver Fish, Bayou Ember. $6.99. Match the bottom — lighter colors on sand and gravel, darker in vegetation.
