Meet the Founder: Bill Pennington
Bill Pennington has been fishing for over 50 years — from the bayous and coastal flats of Southeast Texas to offshore and surf fishing in California. He's not a guy who designed lures in a conference room. He's on the water, catching fish with the same baits he sells.
Born and raised in Houston, Bill fishes primarily in Southeast Texas — small lakes, heavy cover, thick grass, bayous. These are tough, pressured waters where fish have seen every trick in the book. Every WM Bayou lure gets tested here, in these exact conditions, and doesn't get released until it produces.
Bill's fishing roots run deep in the kayak world too. In 2001, he founded NorCal Kayak Anglers, one of the first and most respected kayak fishing communities in the country. He still kayak fishes today out of a Hobie Lynx — which means when he talks about bait action, entry angles, and how a lure behaves in the strike zone, he's speaking from the seat of a kayak in the same water you fish.
His philosophy is simple: a WM Bayou lure should stop you in your tracks. It might fit a category, but it pushes the limits of that category — built for anglers who want something that stands out in the tackle box and on the water.
