Rigging the Techno Frog: Our Top Methods Unveiled

Hey there, fellow anglers! We are back with some fresh insights on how to get the best out of your Techno Frog lure.

Our Favorite Ways to Rig the Techno Frog

1. Ned Rig

Using a Ned rig is our go-to method especially when we are dealing with a relatively compact bottom. This method allows us to twitch the frog subtly along the bottom, imitating a frog trying to hibernate or one that is in distress, which is irresistible to bass. Here's how we do it:

  • Align the frog with the line properly
  • Ensure the setup is straight to achieve a super awesome demonstration

2. Owner Twist Lock Hook

We love using an owner twist lock hook, optionally paired with a 16-ounce weight, to give it a bit more heft, making it perfect for skipping over lily pads. This setup gives the frog a subtle fluttering motion, resembling a struggling frog, which absolutely entices fish to strike. Here's how we set it up:

  • Use a 3/0, 1/16 ounce owner twist lock hook
  • Insert it into the rigging nose of the Techno Frog, ensuring it hangs straight
  • Find the right spot to secure the hook, making it completely weedless

3. Worm Hook (Bonus Method)

As a bonus, we explored rigging the Techno Frog on a regular worm hook, which turned out to be a very lightweight setup, allowing the frog to sink slowly and gracefully. Here's how we do it:

  • Use a laser sharp round bend worm hook (not EWG)
  • Insert it slightly into the rigging nose, without going too far
  • Ensure the hook sets right behind the hump in the head of the frog, making it weedless

Wrapping Up

We hope this guide has given you some fresh ideas on rigging your Techno Frog. Remember, the special rigging nose of the Techno Frog allows for a variety of rigging options, so feel free to get creative and find the method that works best for you.
